A DAY IN THE LIFE OF.
Narrative // Photography // Print // Spacial // Social Issues
The task was to create a series of photos that tell a story and connect to each other within the theme "a day in the life of.."
Many different outcomes were created by the participants. The floor, music, people animals, nature, snow, hoods, and so on. For mine.
I didn't want to title it, doing so would make
the images lose the weight they hold. I wanted
the viewer to make the choice of what they want
to see here. The contrast of man and woman coupled with one being black and the other white.
I wanted to see what kind of assumptions people made without any context. I laid the photos down in front
of the viewers, In pairs as they sit on your
screen and I asked what they see.
Some said violence. Some said a relationship. Others said one reflects play fullness while being with another while the other-side resembles captivity. Some assumed the man is being domineering or the woman was in trouble.
Funny how our minds make up our own narratives.
I wanted to show you a day in the life
"through your eyes" but discovered it can mean a whole lot more than I initially imagined.
What do you see?
